before i go any further, i must give credit for some of the wording from my last post to my dear friend hector longo, the fabulous patriots beat writer for a local newspaper you may have read... he was the first one i heard describe the baseball regular season as one long exhibition and when i wrote that before, i was not remotely aware that it was he who put that particular phrasing into my head... thanks, hec, and sorry for forgetting you...

don't fret, faithful readers... tomorrow (or later today for some) will be here soon and with that will come more exquisitely written gobbledy-gook by me...
